I Lead India RTI Day !!

The Right to Information Act helps citizens to get sensitive and critical information from the government departments for their inaction and wrong action.
The Times of India has started an initiative called the I Lead India Day. It has held its workshop in Kolkata to start this campaign.

The “Right to Information” helps the citizens become agents of change and bring in transformation in the overall working of the government departments.
The Right To Information Act, 2005 came into force on 13th of October, 2005. This law helps and empowers the common man to get complete clarity on the decisions and actions of the government at all levels and across all government departments.
“The I Lead India Right To Information Day initiative seeks to inspire citizens to overcome their apathy, educate them about RTI as a powerful tool of citizen empowerment and help create an understanding of the manner in which RTI can be leveraged to bring greater transparency in the manner in which we ar…

Sonia Gandhi kills “Ravana” !!

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has aimed to kill the effigy of Ravana. In India, the effigy of “Ravana” is burnt to commemorate the celebration of “Dussehra”. All other leaders watched the burning of the effigy of “Ravana”, a symbol of evil. In India, the “Dussehra” festival is celebrated as a symbol of the victory of “good” over the “evil”. It is in this context the effigy of “Ravana” is burnt. It is also celebrated on account of the victory of Rama” over “Ravana”.
It is said that “Ravana” had ten heads. This can not be true biologically. To me, this is just a metaphor. It is symbolic for the evil within. He was a king. He was a scholar. He had all the knowledge of the scriptures. And he also had boons from the Gods. But he was never trustworthy. The ten heads symbolically represent all possible evils or “Vikaras” in a human being. “Akara”, is an outer form and “Vikara” is an inner form. The body is an outer form and the mind is an inner form. An action is an outer form and a th…

FIR against “Aamir Khan”

This is a breaking news. An FIR has been filed against actor Aamir Khan and others as per a news report in Times of India and also in India Today.
As per the report an FIR was lodged against the actors after locals objected to a scene in which a man dressed as Lord Shiva was pulling a rickshaw in which two burqa-clad women were sitting. Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and other actors were shooting in Chandni Chowk for their forthcoming movie PK (“Peekay”). It is heard that this movie is a satire on God and godmen”
As per the news report, a police official said, “We lodged an FIR under section 295 A (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religious of any class) and 153 A of Indian Penal Code (IPC) (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) against the actors”
It is really strange why Lord Shiva was being depicted in the shooting in that way? The scene at the shooting place was depicting an act…

Who is Narayan? Who is Sai?

Who is Sai? Many would like to know the meaning of the word “Sai”. The word “Sai” is used to address God, a supreme force behind everything. Kabir was a mystic poet of India. He uses the word “Sai” in two of his “Dohas” (couplets). His couplets where he uses the word “Sai” are as below:
जैसे तिल में तेल है, ज्यों चकमक में आग । तेरा साईं तुझ में है, तू जाग सके तो जाग ।
In the above couplet he is saying, Just like how oil is contained in the sesame seed, and just like how fire is within the flint stone, in the same way your God is within you, wake up if you can
In another couplet he uses the word “Sai” as below:
साई इतना दीजिए जामें कुटुंब समाय,  मै भी भूखा ना रहूं, साधु न भूखा जाय
In the above couplet he is praying God to give him at least this much in which his family could eat, he could eat, and a sage visiting his home also does not go hungry. He is only asking this much and nothing more. This is how beautifully he uses the word “Sai” in the above couplet.
Who is Narayan? We may also l…

He Ram ! Na Aasa, Na Ram !!

There are good coins and bad coins in an economy. And this does not mean that the laws of the economy are wrong. There are accidents in life. And that does not mean that the laws of life are wrong. There are events in the universe and that does not mean that the laws of the universe are wrong. The laws of the science are the same to every observer. This is not only a scientific fact but also a spiritual insight. The above poem is just an effort to distinguish between good coins and bad coins.

Leadership of Rama and Krishna

Truth is One. We can neither join nor divide it. And all joining and dividing is the game of the mind. The mind always goes to either this extreme or that extreme, like the pendulum of a clock. Both these aspects of a division and an unity speak of duality. And the truth is in a non-duality or transcendence. This happens when the mind is no more. The first glimpse of the truth happens in a no-mind. Both the epics, that is Ramayana and Mahabharata, illustrate this metaphorically. And understanding both of them very well is for our common good. Rama creates boundaries and he does not transgress and still proves that he is a “Maryada Purushottam”. He is a rule keeper. He is an Enlightened Leader of the Dwapar Yuga.

Krishna comes after Rama and destroys all the boundaries. He destroys all the rules, and recreates new rules and new values. He is a rule maker and a king maker. And he too still proves as a “Poornavatar”. He is an Enlightened Leader of the Treta Yuga. And both of them demonstr…
